Dance/Movement Therapy
Dance/ Movement therapy is a powerful form of psychotherapy and counseling that utilizes many mind/body approaches to promote healing. It draws from the historic tradition of dance as a communal and healing ritual of expression, and from a more modern understanding of interpersonal neurobiology. Through relaxation techniques, rhythmic interactions, sensory awareness activites, and fine and gross motor play a dance/movement therapist can help clients improve body image, self-esteem, and relatedness, and foster social/emotional growth.
